2025/11/28 Congratulations! GGM Wins First Place in the Finals of the 4th Startup Challenge
In response to the Ministry of Economic Affairs’ (MOEA) Net Zero Emissions policy, the Small and Medium Enterprise Administration launched the Green Technology Innovation Competition in 2022. The program aims to encourage collaboration between large enterprises and startups through a “big companies leading small companies” model, fostering green transformation, accelerating cooperation, and expanding business opportunities across industries.
Now in its 4th year, the competition has attracted participation from over one hundred major domestic and international corporations. This year’s participating enterprises span diverse fields, including MediaTek, ASE Group, ASUS, Pegatron, Taipower, Taiwan Water Corporation, L’Oréal Taiwan, Chi Mei, Chicony, Makalot, Promisedland Resort, Syscom, Shine Chung, and CompoTech, among others. The competition covers topics across energy, manufacturing, healthcare, food, and ICT sectors. Through a “corporate challenge, startup solution” model, startups are invited to address real industry needs, creating dual benefits in both technology implementation and value-added collaboration.
Global Green Material participated in the L’Oréal Taiwan Challenge Track this year. Leveraging our expertise in plastic recycling, upcycling, and materials development, we supported L’Oréal Taiwan’s “Beauty Back to Beauty” container recycling program. By applying material modification technologies to recycled PET and PE bottles and integrating principles of green product design, we proposed a modular recycled display system made primarily from PET bottles with supplementary PE material.
The solution focuses on single-material recyclability, multi-application modularity, and reusability. It also introduces an innovative business model that includes rental services for recycled display components and a closed-loop recycling system, helping L’Oréal further advance its circularity and carbon-reduction goals.
In addition to improving the high-value reuse rate of recycled bottles, this solution helps L’Oréal Taiwan reduce single-use waste generated across its many annual brand events. The recycled brand containers can be continuously reused in future events, achieving a true closed-loop recycling cycle.
Throughout the six-month competition—spanning preliminary selection, semifinals, mentorship, and the final round—our proposal received strong recognition from L’Oréal Taiwan and the judging panel, ultimately earning first place in the category.
Global Green Material, this competition serves as a valuable opportunity to build meaningful connections with brands. More importantly, we hope to bring the proposed solution into real-world implementation and establish an authentic closed-loop recycling partnership.
Beyond producing recycled plastic materials, Global Green Material also helps enterprises and brands solve the long-standing challenge of treating plastic waste as general garbage. We convert various plastic waste streams into new recycled materials and manufacture eco-friendly products for corporate use. To date, we have assisted over 10 major enterprises and brands in Taiwan in achieving tangible sustainability milestones.
We welcome companies with related needs to contact us for collaboration.
